Prior to joining the full-time team, almost all of our staff participated in a Brackenhurst Ministries volunteer opportunity.  We believe that short term trips are  transformational as volunteers are able to experience what the Lord is doing around the world.  Volunteers return home with a greater passion for the spread of the Gospel, a heart burdened for those that are suffering, and a commitment to engage in the ongoing work of the ministry.  Therefore, we consider volunteer teams to be a vital part of who we are as an organization. 

What short term volunteer opportunities do you currently offer?

• Camp Staff - Each summer we need 25 college aged students or young adults who are eager to serve the Lord through being camp counselors.  This 10 week trip enables staff to take part in 6 weeks of camp, plus enables them to take part in several local ministries, including visiting the Western project.  Click here to visit the camp staff page.
• Short Term Teams - We are happy to host individuals or teams who want to plug into one of the ministries in which we are involved.  In the past we’ve had teams from Southside Church, Berry College, Union University, Baylor University, and Atlanta area pastors, as well as several individual families.  Click here to learn more about what these teams have done in the past and how you can take part on an upcoming trip.
• Adventures Programming Staff – Individuals with an outdoor leadership background may be interested in pursuing a 6 month internship with the Adventure program.  This work would largely include running groups on the challenge course but would also include guiding for our adventure trips program and plugging into the various ministry areas in which our team is working.  Contact us if you would like more specific information about this opportunity.

What long term (1 year or more) volunteer opportunities do you currently offer?

• We have opportunities to plug into several of our ministry areas.  Right now the greatest needs are in International and Asian Ministry as well as Adventure programming. 
• 15 month student ministry position

If you think you may be interested in one of these ministries, we hope you will pray about joining one of our short term trips.  We prefer for long term staff to participate in a short term trip prior to joining our full time team.
